The Origin of Marker

Marker was born out of necessity on the 19th hole.

Our founders are regulars in weekly multi-group games where bets are part of the fun—but settling those bets? Not so much. Every week, it felt like someone got shorted or overpaid due to scoring mistakes or reconciliation errors. It caused tension, confusion, and wasted time.

We tried all the popular golf apps. But they were either too complicated, missing key features, or simply not built for the way our groups played. What we really needed was simple: a digital scorecard that could handle multi-group events, support all our side bets, and show a live leaderboard. Nothing more. Nothing less.

So we built it.
